Damage Waiver CDW/TP and Zero Excess
Collision Damage Waiver with Theft Protection (CDWTP) limits the renter’s liability in the event of theft, attempted theft, or damage to the vehicle’s body, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the general terms and conditions and the rental agreement. If CDWTP is not included in the reservation, the renter is fully liable for the vehicle. CDWTP can be purchased additionally if it is not already included in the booking.
When CDWTP is included in the reservation, the deductible ranges from 1,500.00 CHF to 3,000.00 CHF depending on the vehicle category. The deductible is always applicable in the event of vehicle damage. CDWTP is not an insurance.
If you wish to further reduce the deductible, additional protection options such as Zero Excess (ZE/SCDW) can be purchased. Zero Excess is an optional protection that reduces the renter’s deductible to 0 CHF. ZE/SCDW does not cover negligence, interior damage, or damage to the underbody or roof.
Before purchasing Zero Excess, you should verify whether your personal coverage is sufficient to cover damage, theft, administrative fees, or depreciation. If you decline Zero Excess, you will be responsible for covering these costs yourself and claiming reimbursement from your insurance. Zero Excess is not an insurance.
