ACRISS Code

When you book a rental car, not a specific vehicle model but a specific vehicle class is reserved for you. So that you can choose between different categories and equipment features, each rental car is assigned a four-digit letter code, the so-called "ACRISS code". Its individual elements, read from front to back, stand for the following characteristics:

 

 

Using the ACRISS code, you can find out the classification of your rental car with the help of the examples in the table below.  The code is the same for all manufacturers and is used by all major car rental companies worldwide.
