Naples is Italy's third-largest city, as well as one of Europe's oldest. It's an important cultural centre, even during the time of the Roman Empire, with a history that extends back to the Stone Ages. Naples Capodichino Airport is approximately 4 miles from the city centre and has easy access to the E45, which leads to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. Enterprise Rent-A-Car has a large modern fleet of vehicles that includes a range of classes to suit your needs. Pick up your hire car directly at Naples Capodichino Airport and begin your adventure. Naples' city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the Royal Palace on Piazza Municipo and the dramatic Castel Nuovo.

For a spooky attraction, north of the city centre is the Catacombs of San Gaudioso. The entrance is beneath the altar of the Basilica Santa Maria della Sanita. When it comes to food, Naples is synonymous with pizza. It is a dish that was invented there, and there's even an official pizza certification in recognition of pizzas made the traditional way. Nearby places of interest include Mount Vesuvius, and the famous remains of Pompeii and Herculaneum, one of the most visited tourist attractions in Italy. Follow the A3 to southbound E45 in your Enterprise rental car if you want to visit the excavated ruins of these towns.

Further south is the iconic Amalfi Coast. In your car hire, you can enjoy a drive along the winding coast road that follows the dramatic rocky cliffs through the many fishing villages and towns that dot this area.
